Music has always held a special place in Robert’s life. As a former All-State musician and a proud product of the esteemed North East Independent School District, he cherishes his involvement with the award-winning Bradley Middle School Band/Jazz Band and the Winston Churchill High School Band. The memories and experiences gained through these organizations have left an indelible mark on Robert’s heart.

Remaining in San Antonio after high school, Robert pursued his passion for both justice and music. He earned degrees in Criminal Justice and Music Education from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Upon graduation, he embarked on a career as a Band Director and Mariachi Director in the San Antonio Independent School District and later the Northside Independent School District. With a deep desire to share his love of music with young minds, Robert found fulfillment in teaching and mentoring students, considering them among the finest individuals he has had the pleasure of encountering.

Robert’s dedication to his students manifested in remarkable achievements. He takes particular pride in leading the Tafolla Middle School Varsity Band to the UIL Concert and Sight-Reading Contest after a two-year absence, expanding the Sul Ross Middle School Mariachi program to expose students to diverse forms and styles of mariachi music, and guiding the Folks Middle School Non-Varsity Band to their first and only Sweepstakes at the UIL Concert and Sight-Reading Contest. However, amidst their successes, Robert witnessed gross inequalities in support and resources, particularly affecting Title 1 campuses and his Mariachi program. Despite his best efforts, he felt a constant yearning to do more. Motivated by this drive, Robert decided to pursue a legal education, ultimately attending the reputable Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas.

Following his graduation, Robert relocated to the Rio Grande Valley, where he began his legal career as a Public Defender at the Hidalgo County Public Defender’s Office. Working alongside his exceptional former colleagues, Robert shared a deep-rooted belief that providing legal assistance to individuals who could not afford representation was a calling aligned with a higher purpose. He derived great satisfaction from representing indigent individuals and holding the State accountable to their burden of proof. During this time, Robert also had the privilege of briefly participating in Gideon’s Promise, an organization dedicated to training Public Defenders.

Continuing his commitment to public service, Robert transitioned to the Hidalgo County District’s Office. In his roles within the Domestic Violence Unit and later the Misdemeanor Division, he remained steadfast in his compassion for people. Robert played an instrumental role in assisting victims in obtaining protective orders and provided guidance to potential applicants seeking resolutions to their legal issues. Going above and beyond, his goal was always to ensure that those who sought his assistance left with more knowledge and resources than they initially had. Robert pursued justice, not merely punishment, while upholding the highest ethical standards in prosecuting crimes.

Now excitedly joining the esteemed Palker Law Firm family, Robert is eager to continue serving the community and safeguarding them against the exploitation of big insurance companies. His unwavering dedication to the well-being of the community and relentless pursuit of justice make him an invaluable asset.

During his leisure time, Robert finds solace in the company of his family and friends. He indulges his love for music, explores new destinations, relishes the opportunity to connect with diverse individuals and sample new food, and delights in visits to California. Additionally, Robert nurtures an interest in cars, technology, and passionately supports the San Antonio Spurs, Dallas Cowboys, and Houston Astros.
